Albert Lombaard joined the insurance industry in 1986 as a representative with Old Mutual. During his 10 years with the company he gained valuable experience in all aspects of the industry.
He left Old Mutual in 1996, forming his own independent brokerage Lombkor as he felt he was able to offer his clients a wider variety of options. He has been running the company successfully ever since.
Based in Knysna for the past 20 years, Lombkor has since acquired Outeniqua Consultants thereby expanding his client base. Albert travels extensively throughout the country to assist his clients wherever necessary.
Lombkor also has the services of two other representatives.
Mariette Smit has been working in the insurance industry since 1987 and started off her career in the banking short term insurance environment. She joined an independent brokerage in 1992 as a short-term underwriting clerk. Within 10 years she became the manager of the short-term portfolio of the business and managed another brokerage simultaneously. By building experience and expanding knowledge in different categories of short-term insurance, she can offer comprehensive advice in a wide spectrum of risks. Mariette has evolved into a short-term specialist in the industry with 35 years of experience, having clients based all over the country. She manages her own branch in Pretoria East, based in Wapadrand with a diverse client base.
Johan Venter originally started in 1995 as a short-term insurance broker at Dot International and progressed to being part director of that company. In 1999 he started his own business Icon Brokers CC, specializing in Short Term Insurance and in October 2021 merged with Lombkor. He decided to merge with Lombkor to broaden his horizons so that he can offer his clients more of the products available in the Financial Industry. Johan is situated in Rayton Gauteng although the head office is in Knysna. Client service is his priority, and he is proud to say that for the past 27 years, he has managed to build up a professional relationship with his clients.
